Ideal for heavy-duty applications: spherical roller bearings from ZKL

ZKL’s spherical roller bearings impress with their high reliability, even in heavy-duty applications, such as in the mining industry. The bearings consist of single-piece inner and outer rings as well as cage-guided barrel rollers. The inner rings are equipped with either cylindrical or tapered bores.

ZKL’s spherical roller bearings are produced in highly modern production facilities. This has advantages for users. The individual roller bearing parts are forged on ZKL’s advanced production lines. This gives the material a favorable fiber orientation, which has a positive impact on the roller bearing’s stability and functionality under enormous loads.

It was a conscious decision by ZKL not to manufacture its spherical roller bearings from tubes using a more cost-effective cutting manufacturing process because this separates the fiber orientation in the material, which is particularly disadvantageous for heavy-duty applications involving large roller bearings. ZKL Group’s entire production cycle is certified in accordance with ISO 9001.

“Findling Wälzlager has been working with ZKL for many years and is impressed with their products,” says Maher Chaouch, an application engineer at Findling Wälzlager. „Die ZKL Group ist einer der führenden europäischen Hersteller von Großwälzlagern und hat sich insbesondere bei den Pendelrollenlagern einen Namen gemacht.“

Having their own research and development department allows them to continuously increase their products’ performance values. They now even possess expertise about special solutions such as vibration bearings for vibrating screens and railway bearings.

Spherical roller bearing consist of single-piece inner and outer rings as well as cage-guided barrel rollers. The inner rings are equipped with either cylindrical or tapered bores. When subjected to loads, spherical roller bearings automatically adjust themselves thanks to their symmetrical barrel rollers and concave outer ring raceways. This makes spherical roller bearings particularly well-suited for shaft deflection and misalignment. Compared to roller bearings of the same size, they achieve significantly higher load ratings by means of line contact between barrel rollers and raceways.
