ABEG® eXtreme series
For applications subject to extreme conditions, eXtreme series ABEG® roller bearings promise a significantly higher service life than comparable standard premium products. Roller bearings have to withstand extreme loads and rough ambient conditions in application such as crane systems, construction machinery and off-road vehicles, as well as in bearing engineering, materials handling engineering and heavy-load engineering. High loads or speeds, temperature stability or special cleanliness requirements—roller bearings have to be able to handle extreme operating conditions while simultaneously having a service life that is as long as possible. Until now, searching for suitable products has usually ended with expensive, hard to supply premium or custom-made bearings. While maintaining performance and meeting the minimum service life requirements of premium products, Findling also took into account the aspects of procurement costs and delivery times when developing the ABEG® eXtreme series. This has made it possible to create an all-around advantageous solution for very particular applications with special requirements that meets all requirements and satisfies all demands.
The “fantastic four” for every discipline: this new technical solution is divided into the four series Xforce, Xspeed, Xtemp and Xclean. This allows different requirements to be met with respect to operating conditions. Xforce bearings are solutions for heavy-duty applications in which high load ratings are required. By contrast, very high speeds for high-speed applications were the focus in the development of the Xspeed series. The Xtemp series is designed for temperature stability in cases of excessive heat or cold. The Xclean series provides robust bearing technology for washdown applications as well as special designs for clean room applications.
The roller bearings of the Xspeed series were specially optimized for applications at high speeds. They offer high performance in electric motors, pumps, compressors, fans, rotary encoders, air-conditioning systems or household appliances. In addition to a particularly high level of quiet operation, the Xspeed bearings are characterized by high tolerance accuracy, low internal heating, low noise development, a long service life and high energy efficiency.
Proven Supra class bearing technology was tested on our own performance test rig for rolling bearing technology with a wide variety of seal variants and special lubrication from the diverse ABEG® portfolio and specified for the Xspeed and Xforce series. After service life and comparison tests with selected types, it was possible to demonstrate a 50% longer service life for Xspeed and Xforce series bearings than those of the Premium reference class. Xforce series ABEG® roller bearings provide this range of performance with short delivery times, in other words an almost complete range of deep groove ball bearings is always in stock.
What all series have in common is the above-average service life of products used in extreme applications. Depending on the series, the development phase also took into account increased energy efficiency, good sealing characteristics and improved corrosion protection. Since the ABEG® method is fundamentally about technically and economically optimum solutions, these products are also significantly more affordable than similar premium or special bearings. It was possible to achieve this with the optimization of proven bearing technology. By modifying the greasing and seals, which are equipment components that are relevant to service life, it was possible to significantly increase the service life. For this purpose, a wide variety of seal variants with special grease from the ABEG® portfolio were tested on Findling’s roller bearing test rig, and particularly high-performance combinations were determined for the ABEG® eXtreme series or the respective application. The evaluation of the service life and comparative tests with selected types on the performance test rig showed that it was possible to at least triple the service life of the new bearings for heavy-duty applications in comparison with those of the Premium reference class.
